As a designer, Mirell takes cues from historic architecture and traditional styling while adding modern and whimsical elements for a dynamic mix. Her goal is to make a home feel like it came together over time, resulting in a timeless and collected look that is personal to each client.
Born in Estonia (a small country in Northern Europe) and raised in New Orleans, Mirell's appreciation for everything old and storied runs deep. Before focusing on interior design, Mirell achieved degrees in business, psychology, and law as well as spent almost a decade as a Realtor. She is a partner in New Orleans Historic Homes as part of Rêve Realtors. Her background in real estate allows her to approach design from a unique perspective that incorporates true New Orleans character as well as functionality and resale value.
After renovating two homes of her own and advising countless new homeowners about the best use of space, Mirell founded her own interior design business — Petite Manse — in 2021. The name came from her idea that small spaces can feel just as luxurious and special with attention to detail, intentional dramatic moments, and filled with objects you love. In her design practice, Mirell encourages her clients to go bold and lean into what they love!
